How to navigate directree

directree has a few distinct ways in, depending on whether you're browsing, buying, or launching.

Browsing

  • Categories: every tool sorted into categories, each with its own page and filters.
  • Search: the search bar (and the command palette) finds tools by name across the whole directory.
  • Top: tools ranked by community upvotes. Votes are the only thing that moves this list. Paid plans never do.
  • New: the latest additions, newest first. Every published listing lands here immediately.
  • Just Launched: tools whose founders scheduled a launch day. Each day's launches go live at 09:00 (Stockholm time) and hold the spotlight until the next morning. See Instant vs Launch for how the two feeds differ.

Deciding between tools

  • Compare: pick a category, select up to 4 tools, and see their listing data side-by-side. Then optionally run Find your best match, an honest, grounded AI suggestion based only on what the listings actually say.
  • Alternatives pages: every tool has an /alternatives/<tool> page listing other tools in its category, useful when you're searching "X alternative".

Community

  • Community Survey: one question about twice a week, the community votes, and past surveys live in the archive as a permanent record.
  • Contributors: how directree recognizes useful, trusted community members with badges and the Community Showcase.

For founders

  • Submit: paste your URL, get a listing in ~30 seconds.
  • Pricing: the core is free forever; Plus is optional visibility upside.
  • GEO Check: a free tool that checks whether ChatGPT recommends your software or your local business.
