Comparing tools side-by-side
The Compare page puts up to four tools next to each other using their live directree listing data.
How to use it
- Go to /compare.
- Pick a category. Comparisons are within-category, so you're comparing like with like.
- Select up to 4 tools from that category.
- Read the side-by-side: pricing, free plan/trial, plan model, integrations, platforms, and the labelled editorial fields, column by column.
Everything you see comes straight from the listings, with the same honesty labels as everywhere else. You can tell at a glance whether a cell is an observed fact (✓), the AI's read (✦), or founder-confirmed (★).
What compare is not
- Not a scorecard. There's no "winner" row and no synthetic 0–10 totals. Tools trade off against each other; pretending otherwise is how comparison sites lie.
- Not pay-to-rank. Column order and content are never affected by Plus, boosts, or votes.
- Not padded. If a listing doesn't state something, the comparison says so instead of filling the gap with a guess. A thin listing looks thin, which is itself honest information (and a nudge for the founder to claim and improve it).
When you want a recommendation
A side-by-side answers "what's different?". If your question is "which one fits me?", run Find your best match from the same page. You answer a few questions about your needs, and an AI suggests the best fit grounded only in the listing data, caveats included.
