Claiming & founders
Editing a claimed listing
How founder edits work: corrections flip fields to ★ Founder-edited, and AI text never silently becomes 'verified'.

Editing a claimed listing
Once you've claimed your listing, you can edit it from the tool's edit page (also linked from your dashboard).
What happens when you edit
Every field you change or confirm flips from its previous label to gold ★ Founder-edited. That's not cosmetic – it's the provenance system doing its job:
- Buyers see exactly which parts of the listing the verified owner has vouched for.
- The AI's original text and your verified facts live in separate tables under the hood. Correcting one fact never implies the AI's remaining text was verified – each field carries its own label.
What you can improve
- The AI's editorial fields – summary, best-for, not-for, strengths, weaknesses. If the ✦ AI-inferred read is outdated or wrong, override it. Your version wins and is labelled as yours.
- Facts – pricing details, plan model, integrations, categories.
- Media – screenshots and gallery images, a YouTube demo, an interactive demo link.
- The badge embed – the edit page includes your do-follow badge widget; see The backlink badge.
What you can't do
You can't buy or fake the labels. A founder edit is honest because it's labelled as a founder edit – buyers can weigh "the company says X" appropriately. And nothing you pay for (including Plus) changes labels, upvotes, or rankings.
Keep it current
Listings show a "last updated" signal, and stale info is the most common honest-listing failure mode. When your pricing or positioning changes, spend the two minutes updating the listing – a fresh ★ Founder-edited page is the best version of your directree presence, and it's what the compare match feature quotes when buyers ask for recommendations.
