Sources behind this listingSee source links, recorded dates and owner corrections.

Observed facts come from public pages. Founder-edited facts are supplied by the verified owner. AI-inferred facts are model interpretations; derived facts are calculated from other data. A source link lets you check the current page. It does not guarantee the fact is still current.

Dates show when a record was saved. Some older records use the listing’s update date; they are not proof of a fresh check. Missing source records are shown explicitly.

A recipe keeper with no account, no ads, and no cloud sync is unusual in 2026. What made you decide to keep everything local — was it about privacy, simplicity, or avoiding the maintenance burden of user accounts and servers?

Honestly, all three, but they turned out to be the same decision seen from different angles. It started with a promise I wanted to be able to keep: free forever. The only way a solo dev can promise that honestly is if the cost of running the thing does not grow with users. No server, no database, no bill that scales, so there is nothing to put behind a subscription later. The architecture keeps the promise, not my willpower. Privacy then fell out for free: recipes cannot leak from a server that does not exist. And so did the maintenance side, which people underestimate. No accounts means no password resets, no breach risk, no data requests, no 3am database alerts. For one person maintaining this long term, that is the difference between a project that survives and one that quietly dies. The honest tradeoff is sync. Your jar lives on one device unless you move it with a one-file backup, and I say that out loud on the About page rather than hiding it. So far most people cook from one phone anyway. Thanks for actually reading it closely enough to ask 🙏
