Your product gets a new pricing plan. You update the website, change the docs and tell your customers. The directory listing is easy to forget.
We have added owner API access to Directree Plus so your agent can update your listing as part of that same workflow. It is available to existing and new Plus members, including lifetime members, at no additional charge.
The first version is a beta. It lets you give an agent access to one verified listing, choose whether it can make changes, and see what it did afterward.

A listing update can be part of shipping
A release is a useful moment to check what your listing says. New integrations, changed pricing and a clearer explanation of who your product is for can all make the old version less useful to a buyer.
With the API, a workflow you control can read the current listing, compare it with product facts you approve, preview the proposed changes and save them. For example, after approving a new pricing page, you could ask your agent to update the corresponding pricing plans on Directree. After shipping an integration, you could include it in the listing update step of your release checklist.
Directree provides the API. You bring the agent or automation and decide when it runs. Connecting a key does not start an automatic website crawler, write marketing copy or schedule a relaunch.
You decide what the connection can do
Open Account → Agent access, give the connection a name and choose a listing you have claimed and verified. Each key works with one listing.
You can grant read-only access or read-and-update access. A read-only connection can inspect the listing. An update-enabled connection can make ongoing changes without asking you to approve each API request, so grant that permission to a workflow you trust.
Choose an expiry of 30 days, 90 days or one year. The secret is shown once, and you can revoke the connection from your account. If the listing changes owners or loses verification, its existing keys are revoked.
What your agent can update
The beta supports the information owners most often need to keep current:
- Name, tagline and description.
- Pricing plans, free-plan availability and trial details.
- Integrations, supported languages and company location.
- Social links, demo links and a YouTube video.
- Founder-supplied features and who the product is best suited for.
Updates follow the listing’s existing review rules. An approved listing updates immediately. A listing still in review keeps the edits staged until approval. API access does not skip that review or spend an approval credit.
The beta does not cover uploads, category changes, creating or deleting listings, purchases or relaunches. The setup guide lists the supported fields and limits.
The source stays clear
An agent acting for a verified owner is still making an owner-authorized statement. Its changes are labelled Owner via API, with a record of the connection, time and before-and-after values.
That label does not mean Directree independently verified every statement the agent supplied. It gives buyers and owners an accurate account of where the information came from. The API cannot edit Directree’s independent AI assessments, verification status, community votes or rankings.
The same principle applies to the purchase: Plus adds a way to maintain your listing. It does not buy a better position in the results.
Previews, newer edits and interrupted requests
Before saving, your workflow can request a preview showing exactly which fields would change. Updates include the revision of the listing the agent read. If someone has edited it in the meantime, the API rejects the stale update so the agent can read the new version and reconsider.
If a connection drops after a save, the agent can retry the same request with the same identifier. Directree returns the original result instead of applying the update twice.
You can inspect recent agent updates in your account. Published API changes also join the existing Plus listing history.
Included in Plus
Directree Plus remains $49 once, with lifetime access. Agent API access joins the existing approval credits, quarterly relaunch, listing history, health checks and other Plus benefits. Manual listing editing remains free.
During the beta, each account can have 10 active connections, make 60 API requests per minute and 1,000 per UTC day, and save up to 100 updates that change content per UTC day. Previews and exact retries do not consume the changed-update allowance. These are shared account limits, so adding more keys does not increase them.
